The Lion in Winter

The story of Lion in Winter concerns Henry II of England, his wife, Eleanor of Acquitaine, and the disagreement which erupts over which of their three sons should inherit the crown and consequently the kingdom upon Henry’s death. Henry is interested in a long reign by his family; so he favors his youngest son, John, to replace him. Eleanor, however, favors Richard, the oldest son. So the battle lines are drawn, and its is a five-way battle which unfolds. The play is beautifully written and SCT has cast some great actors with wonderful voices to interpret this play for you.
